About the Festival

Every October around Hangul Day, Arirang USA Community hosts the "Hangul Day Ceremony & Youth Culture Festival." The event celebrates the excellence of Hangul and provides next-generation Korean American youth with opportunities to experience Korean culture. It features essay competitions for students from area Korean schools, outstanding teacher awards, and traditional Korean cultural performances.

Main Programs

  • Hangul Day Ceremony - Celebration commemorating the significance of Hunminjeongeum
  • Korean Essay Contest - Students from 5 area Korean schools participate in essay writing with scholarships awarded
  • K-POP Dance & Song Contest - Youth K-POP dance performances and Korean song competitions
  • Traditional Culture Show - Hanbok fashion show, taekwondo demonstration, traditional dance, and more
  • Teacher & Student Awards - Awards for outstanding Korean language teachers and students recommended by WAKS
