Arirang Mugunghwa Lane Project

Arirang Mugunghwa Lane Project

Arirang Trail & Mugunghwa Lane Project

The "Arirang Trail" has been officially named in Patapsco Valley State Park. We are planting Mugunghwa (Rose of Sharon), Korea's national flower, along the trail to create the "Arirang Mugunghwa Lane" — expanding a Korean cultural landmark in Maryland. This project represents the Korean American community's identity and shares the beauty of Korea's national flower and culture with the broader community.

Project Goals

  • Plant Mugunghwa flowers and create the Arirang Mugunghwa Lane
  • Install Hangul signage and Korean cultural information boards
  • Install a traditional Korean pavilion and rest areas
  • Expand the Arirang Trail as a Korean cultural landmark

About Patapsco Valley State Park

Patapsco Valley State Park spans Howard County and Baltimore County in Maryland. It is a venue where Arirang USA Community regularly holds picnics and cultural events. By creating a Korean cultural space here, all community residents can naturally experience Korean culture.

🌺 What is Mugunghwa?

The national flower of South Korea, meaning "the flower that blooms eternally and never fades." Mugunghwa blooms new flowers daily from summer to fall, symbolizing the resilience and prosperity of the Korean people.
